Small Groups Build Unique Experiences

You will be traveling with a small group {usually 12 or less} so there is certainly an air of exclusivity to our tours. Your tennis experience will be personalized and your tours will take you places that others only dream of finding. We are able to take you into those tiny gems, restaurants, and little corners of Tuscany that are off-limits to larger groups and thus are not heavily touristed. You will get to meet our friends, who are wine producers and artisans, cheesemakers and painters, in their studios and in many cases, their homes.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR TUSCAN TENNIS TOUR

     Your accommodations include seven nights in an idyllic Tuscan setting between Siena and Florence. With commanding views of Chianti and nestled into olive groves and vineyards, our home for the week is a farmhouse villa and adjacent outbuildings that have been restored into a retreat that preserves the beautiful characteristics of the original structure with open beam ceilings, brick arches, and terracotta floors.

     Your days will include tennis with our international tennis professionals including Marco, the head of our tennis program, and Alessandro a popular Chianti-based professional. After our daily tennis program, we will set out to experience the sites of Tuscany. A few sightseeing highlights include expert-led VIP private tours of cities, towns, and marketplaces such as Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano. Plus, you will get the opportunity to eat in some of our friends’ homes and at our favorite local restaurants. It’s safe to say that you will not go hungry!

     So you're not a tennis player? You will have the opportunity to head out with us on alternative adventures while the tennis enthusiasts get in their best volleys. But many of our participants also enjoy the downtime to relax at their Tuscan home away from home.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Unpack once and settle in to become a temporary local for a week while staying in our small Chianti hometown located between Florence and Siena. Your accommodations in a farmhouse villa surrounded by olive groves set the stage for your immersive week. We are true locals here so you will also meet many of our friends and even join them for a meal in their homes!

 

     On this tour, we will visit Florence, the Cradle of the Renaissance. In Florence, we will visit off-the-beaten-path artisans’ workshops, even participating in a class that teaches the traditional Florentine marbled paper techniques. We will visit a bustling local market and shop at our friend’s leather shop! If you’ve been to Florence before, you will see it with new eyes. If this is your first time, you will be introduced to a Florence that many never have the opportunity to experience!

   

     We will not just taste Italian delicacies, you will get an opportunity to try our hand in the kitchen with an Italian cooking class. You will play an integral role as you help to craft a meal that we will all savor together.

 

     Want to visit the Manhattan of Tuscany? We will visit the famed town of medieval towers, San Gimignano, and dine on a farm that produces the golden-hued Vernaccia wine. We will also spend time in the renowned wine region of Chianti visiting several wine producers, discovering their cellars, and tasting their vintages.

 

     You will adore your visit to Siena, the city of the famed Palio horse race,. There is lots to learn surrounding this Sienese tradition, including the importance of the contrada. We will make sure to visit the unique shell-shaped piazza where the race is run by bareback jockeys twice yearly.

 

     Our fall Tennis in Tuscany tour coincides with the olive harvest season, offering us a rare chance to experience the traditional Tuscan olive harvest. We’re thrilled to offer you the chance to participate in this authentic activity usually reserved for locals. After our hands-on harvesting experience, we celebrate with a beautiful outdoor feast set adjacent to a charming vineyard.

    Come along with us as we experience the Italian Open “Internazionali d'Italia” one of the biggest clay court professional tennis tournaments in the world! It’s always a thrill to see our favorites play on the clay, especially in the grand Foro Italico with it’s intimate feeling stadium courts and Roman (replica) statues. We will attend both a day and night session and afterwards, our tennis professionals will be on hand to discuss what they thought about each match so that you can compare notes.

In addition to watching world-class tennis, we will see the sites of Rome that you have always heard of and a few more that you will delight in discovering. For those who have been to Rome before, we will take you to some lesser-known areas and even to the homes of a few friends!

     Our accommodations include four nights in a lovely small, boutique hotel housed in a recently restored 19th-century palazzo. The hotel is located in the best and most central location in Rome. It is charming and not a standardized American hotel chain, so each room is different in exact size, shape, and decor. You’ll enjoy the neighborhood as it is full of coffee bars, restaurants, and even a morning open-air market full of colorful fruits, veggies, and flowers.

     Your tour will include expert-led VIP private tours at such iconic landmarks as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, and the Pantheon. You will stand in awe in the Sistine Chapel and revel in the immensity and significance of St. Peter’s Basilica. Have you ever wondered what Rome was like 2000 years ago? You will get a sense of it with tours of the Forum and another underground site few tourists know exists.

     What’s a tour in Italy without the most fabulous FOOD?! This tour will have you sipping wine and eating dinner in the home of friends and family members of our team. Have you ever gotten a true introduction to the traditional Roman pastas? Our guests adore our taste tour through them while surrounded by the stones of the theater where Julius Caesar was assassinated. You will also become an expert gelato maker after our class in the shop of our close family friend Massimo. We will make sure to finish the class with a taste of lots of different flavors!

     We are serving up an unforgettable and authentic 4-Night Roman adventure wrapped up with top professional tennis. You will get to experience it all with real Romans who grew up here and know it intimately.
